Duncan,

You may want to put a couple of good runs in on these new c/o's to get use to them before you make any valving changes. I have them setup for rock crawling. If you have any question you can call me or shoot me a pm.
Also if you think you maybe doing any go-fast races I have a great setup you may want to try. I will be using it on my new buggy build.

Jason

Yeh have to get out for a play hope to get all the mounts squared away early next week once works finished .fitted up the fronts and the car sits nice only 1/4 high in the middle at chassis height .So ill raise the upper rear mounts 2 inches should work out just nice.I also have to move a couple of hoses and rotate the lower front mounts to clear the panhard rod mounts other than that it all looks good.

If we do go for the West Oz Challenge Ill take you up on the offer Jason .

Cant up load the pics as I dont know how to change there size and it keeps telling me there over size dumb fucking computors dont they know the only people on this site play with spanners and steel not bloody key boards maybe its just im old

How did the test run go, well i sucked a bit of seat on the first side hill section we did but that was to be expected as the coilovers were just set up at a starting point to then tune from.In the small amount of time we have had them with talking to Jason in the states it now shows the huge possibilities of this set up once you get your head around them as to how they could be set up for different situations very easily. At the momment we are still playing with coil set up and valveing once some new valve packs get here .The amount of easy travel is great with the car just crawling nicely over stuff. The only thing to change is to stiffen up the suspension a bit to help out with side hilling as we still have a bit much body roll for my likeing .

Only 13 days till we leave man it has come around so quickly still have to go pick up a spare tyre and rim thanks to Overworked for letting us borrow one then go pick up the trailer from Simon thanks again .Then its a mad pack and of we go

Post Re: Lemming
already running ATF fluid in them after talking to Jason if we increase the nitrogen levels to much we must then play with the rebound settings on the shock side of things to stop them from unloading .From what I have read and been told this is not to hard to do just adjusting the shim packs on the rebound side of the piston in the shock.

will take a bit of time and effort to dial them in but in the long run I think the coil overs will be great.

yep and don't forget if you had gone straight coil overs you'd be up to about your 3rd set of springs by now, so adjustability is good :) :)

Not wrong would be on the same page as the guys over east just changeing coils to see what works. The big advantage with these air /coilovers is the adjustability of them and also the tech and feed back from Jason and Chris to help with the set up .I dont think you would get to use that huge amount of knowledge with other shops.

Thanks guys means a lot to have the crew cheering us on but Bevan looks like Im liveing in the east mate would be very hard to beat those big dollar trucks with 4 wheel steer on 49s.

Acording to the last Extreme mag DVD were they did the compraison my truggy is a very bugget vehicle.

Seems there is going to be a vehicle on 53 inch Boggers this year and if you have a look at the 4wd Action web page theres info on the bush rangie he is putting 50kgs weight in each front tyre to help it climb.Pete Antenac is supose to run 75kgs thats a lot of extra weight. Those guys have a lot of money was showing how they prep the bush rangie for this years comp he has just gone and bought 2 complete front hub unit brand new for his uni mog axles so thats all the drop gear boxes back to the inner axles thats got to cost .

Ill just get along with my $60 worth of paint

Don't let that intimidate you Duncan. Ive seen 80k rigs not make it through Little Sluice and Ive seen leaf sprung, single case rigs walk it. Go out there and drive hard but smart. I keep telling Chris I should build a TT legal F-Toy and ship it down. I bet it would do great.

Get the water fill from Chris and fill use your winches as suck downs on steep climbs and drops. I know Im not telling you anything you dont already know.

Have fun and kickass.

Jason

How much water do you recon to put in also to fit the valves is it just like an oversize normal valve just the front or all 4. Not worried about big dollar rigs just going to drive smart and make my navi work like a dog

Depends how strong your front axles are
your Junk is front heavy any way , so i would start at half full.

team evolution wrote:

most of the "adapters" have a water in , air out sort of deal .... the just clip onto your normal air valve stem.
so to fill to the amount you want , you rotate the tyre till the air valve is at the full position ...
(for some reason the "reads" wierd)

to fill your tyre to 3/4 rotate you tyre till the valve is at the top
to fill your tyre to 1/2 rotate you tyre till the valve is at the middle
to fill your tyre to 1/4 rotate you tyre till the valve is at the bottom

fill with water till it comes out the valve , remove "adapter" off rim valve the top up tyre with air till you get to the PSI you want...

the boggers are only good for mud though, maybe thats why they need to fill them with weight to be better on rocks, the Trepadors stick to everything, you should do well, you and Steve are a good team, the car is well set-up, don't worry about everyone else just go and have some fun

Unless you have wheeled with water filled tyres before , I wouldn't do it for the comp as it may take a few courses to get used to the handling difference.

Stick to what you know....
